About
The Cabrillo Festival is to celebrate 16th century explorer Juan Rodriguez Cabrilloa who arrived at San Diego on September 28, 1952. The highlight of the festival is the re-enactment of Cabrillo’s landing on the shores of San Diego Bay. “Cabrillo,” his soldiers and a priest sail into the bay on San Salvador (The Californian), and once again claim the land for Spain. In addition there are activities including music, dancing, children's activities and food of Native American, Mexico, Portugal and Spain.
