About
Wildlife World Zoo and Aquarium, located along the western edge of the Phoenix metropolitan area in Litchfield Park, is home to Arizona's largest collection of exotic animals with over 4000 animals representing nearly 600 species. Every year more than 500,000 people, including 75,000 students , visit the zoo.
The zoo section features
- African Safari Train: a $4 5/8-mile train ride through the plains of Africa and see endangered antelope, gazelles, ostriches and more
- Australian Boat Ride: a $2 boat ride to see hopping red and gray kangaroos, an albino wallaby, flightless emu (world's second largest bird) and kookaburra.
- Giraffe Feeding Station: feed the tallest animal on land from a 12-foot platform
- Lory Parrot Feeding: Meet tropical birds from the South Pacific as they land on your arm to nibble on apple slices
- Children's Petting Zoo: Meet and feed axis deer, baby goats, chickens and more.
- Wildlife Encounters: Learn about unique wildlife as they demonstrate natural behaviors like foraging and free flight.
- Tropics of the World Raptiles: See snakes, crawlie insects, lizards, and the rarely seen white alligator.
- Small Mammals of the World: See small monkeys, rodents, bats and more in this air conditioned building.
- Skyride: the 15 minutes ride through the tree tops cost $4 per person
- Carousel: the $2.5 ride is always children's favorite.
The aquarium section features:
- Diversity of Life in Water: see jelly fish, turtle, Cichlids, Alligator, Paddlefish, Star Fish, Urchin, Horseshoe crab, Crocodile and more.
- The Wild & and The Wonderful: see Lobster, Lionfish, Barracuda, Eel, Octopus, Lungfish, Salamander and more.
- Predators: see Piranha, Shark, Payara, Alligator and more.
- Tiburón Restaurant/Flamingo Lounge: dining indoors with awe-inspiring views of sharks swimming right past your table.
