About

Mystery Castle, a Phoenix Point of Pride, was built in the 1930s by Boyce Luther Gulley for his daughter Mary Lou Gulley. Boyce Luther Gulley originally left his wife and daughter for Phoenix so that his tuberculosis will not pass on to them. After his death in 1945, his wife and daughter were notified that they had inherited the castle.

The 18-room "castle" was built from stone, adobe, automobile parts, salvaged rail tracks from a mine, telephone poles, etc. It features a chapel, cantina, and a dungeon.
