About

Taliesin West in Scottsdale is the winter home and camp of Frank Lloyd Wright, the famous architect who built Fallingwater in Pennsylvania and Guggenheim Museum in New York. Today it is the main campus of Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture and headquarter of Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation. At 1982 Taliesin Westt became a National Historic Landmark.

Following the principles of nature architecture, all the building materials are local to the site so things like glass windows were not original and were added by Ms. Wright afterward. Air Conditioners were not installed originally as the site was used as winter camp but were later installed for visitors or students attending the site during extreme summer heat. Throughout the campus people would find influences of the oriental culture such as dragon sculpture and Chinese Opera carving. Don't be troubled by the low ceiling as Frank Lloyd Wright would use low ceiling to force people to seat down and relax instead of standing when they come inside.
