About
The New Children’s Museum is located at 200 West Island Avenue in downtown San Diego’s Marina District close to MTS Convention Center Trolley stop, Seaport Village and the Gaslamp Quarter. The Museum aims to provide children and families a place to see exciting art exhibitions, hands-on studio projects, performances, birthday parties, in-depth classes, camps and educational programs. The park across the street gives an outdoor space for running, climbing, family picnics and a view of the trains and trolley going by.
The New Children’s Museum provides an opportunity for children to have an early exposure to the visual arts. It also provides an environment that encourages active minds, healthy bodies and unstructured play.
The Museum features innovative, provocative artworks that kids can touch, climb, or move; hands-on art making opportunities; and a variety of arts-based classes and camps. It also includes an organic cafe with abundant seating for parents and infants.
