Hsinchu is a county at northeastern Taiwan with total population of 504,768. The county is home to Hsinchu Technology Zone, which hosts many of the world's major semiconductor manufactures including Taiwan Semiconductor Company, the world's largest dedicated independent semiconductor foundry with customers including Applied Micro Circuits, Qualcomm, Altera, Broadcom, Conexant, Marvell and NVIDIA.

The county is divided into the following townships:

  • Xinpu Township
  • Zhudong Township
  • Baoshan Township
  • Beipu Township
  • Emei Township
  • Hengshan Township
  • Hukou Township
  • Jianshi Township
  • Qionglin Township
