Taipei is the capital city as well as economic and cultural center of Taiwan. With population of 2.6 million, it is the fourth largest in Taiwan behind New Taipei, Kaohsiung and Taichung. It is known by modern architecture such as Taipei 101, the world's tallest building from 2004-2010 as well as historic monuments such as Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall and Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall.
The city is divided into the following districts:
