Chandler is a midsize city with population of 240,595 at southeast of Phoenix. The city boasts world-class golf facilities, resorts, fabulous restaurants of every cuisine and premier shopping. One of the biggest advantage of the city is its weather - 330 sunny days a year, and an average temperature of 85 degrees.
History
The city was named after Dr. Alexander John Chandler who handed out ice cream cones to 300 prospective buyers to buy up parcels of land which became Chandler Ranch. With the opening of Williams Air Force Base in 1940 the city saw an influx of military personnel. Later in the 1970s the city became a high-tech city as Motorola and Microchip started manufacturing microchips and The Rogers Corporation opening an electronics plant.
