Tempe is a city located in the East Valley section of the Phoenix Metropolitan Area bordered by Phoenix and Guadalupe on the west, Scottsdale on the north, Chandler on the south, and Mesa on the east. The city is the eighth largest in the state of Arizona with a population of 175,523.
Named after the Vale of Tempe in Greece, Tempe is the location of US Airways Group's corporate headquarters, and of Arizona State University's oldest and largest "Tempe" campus. The main attractions in the area are shopping malls and various museums and art galleries in Arizona State University.
