About

Van Nuys is a district in the City of Los Angeles and was named after Isaac Van Nuys, an agricultural entrepreneur who founded the City of Van Nuys back in 1911. Although Van Nuys residents voted to join the greater City of Los Angeles in 1915, the community grew slowly until the end of World War II as demobilized GI's moved in to populate the region. By 2000 Van Nuys has population of 136,443 and is the center of the San Fernando Valley
