Lahaina is the largest community with population of 9,118 in West Maui, Maui County, Hawaii, and the gateway to the famous Kaanapali and Kapalua beach resorts north of the community. Lahaina was the capital of the Kingdom of Hawaii until the capital was permanently moving to Honolulu,. In the 19th century, Lahaina was the center of the global whaling industry with many sailing ships anchored in at its waterfront; today Lahaina is the main tourist destination on the island with art galleries, shops and restaurants.

Front Street is the main restaurants corridor offering variety of food and entertainment, making the street the hub of West Maui's night life. Located at the north end of Front Street is Lahaina Cannery Mall, an indoor shopping mall built in 1987.
