La'ie is a community with population 4,585 at the north east shore of Oahu island in Hawaii. The place used to be a sanctuary for fugitives until 1819 when all cities of refuge were abolished. La'ie is home to famous Polynesian Cultural Center and Brigham Young University Hawaii.
