Caliente is a town in Lincoln County, Nevada with population of 1,123 and elevation of 4,300 feet. Originally known as Culverwell, Caliente used to be a railroad town in southeastern Nevada. The name Caliente is the Spanish word for hot after the discover of hot springs in 1901. The train depot is now a museum.

Visitors comes to the town for its all year around hot springs as well as near by Rainbow Canyon and Kershaw-Ryan State Park, located just south of Caliente. Other close by attractions includes Echo Canyon State Park, Beaver Dam and Cathedral Gorge.
